James Kara and Harry Wilson will be there, if your child is in the Tamariki Takaro Zone, parents please liaise with Harry and James before you leave your child/children in this area. As requested at the last Marae meeting, please find attached the list of sports, times and venues. I understand the specific draws for each of the sports will not be known until this weekend.

Our waiata for the compulsary kapahaka section are… please refer to the attachment for the words. There is a practice at the kohanga on Wednesday 25th November 2015 at 6pm.

Travel: Whānau are required to make own travel arrangements to Te Awamutu on Saturday but there will be a bus leaving 13 Moore Street, Cambridge at 7:30am on Sunday.

Kai: A BBQ lunch will be supplied at the Te Awamutu Sports Grounds on Sunday only. Kai stalls will be available on Saturday and Sunday.

Tamariki Games: This area will consist of a bouncey castle and other fun activities for young children. Parents are expected to supervise their children at all times.

Maungatautari School House

The Maungatautari school house situated beside the school on Maungatautari road is now available to rent. Anyone interested in renting this property needs to complete the following:

Your name and email address or other contact number.

The reason why you wish to rent this property.

What you are prepared to pay to rent this property.

Provide references with regard to properties you have rented or are renting at present.

All correspondence is to emailed to johnson.raumati@justice.govt.nz. The close off date is Sunday 30th August 2015.

Once all correspondence has been received. The panel comprising Poto Davies, Lee Ann Sperling-Muntz and Johnson Raumati will convene to make a decision on who the successful applicant shall be.

Whānau, there will be Kiwi Sports operating for our tamariki. We are looking for volunteers to supervise our tamariki during the Kiwi Sports. Please contact Aroha Kara if you can do this.

Just a quick note to parents, unless otherwise arranged, please note we are asking for Supervisors Only and for the Kiwi Sports Only. It will not a babysitting service for the day! Ngā mihi!

Ngāti Koroki Kahukura Rōpū Kapa Haka

If you’re keen, nau mai, haere mai e te whaanau whaanui. The first overnight noho will be held at Poohara Marae starting at 11.00am on Saturday 27th July and finishing at 3.00pm on Sunday 28th July.

What to Bring

• something for a shared pot luck lunch on Saturday
• $15 for noho cost
• recording device
• notepad & pen
• He Kete Waiata book (if you have one)

This noho is open to all our Ngāti Koroki Kahukura whānau and it would be awesome to get as many of our Maungatautari whānau there as possible. Please spread the pānui far and wide throughout our whānau.

Merchandise

Unisex Singlet, Cap and Shirt

Next week, i hope to have pictures and prices up of all Maungatautari Marae merchandise which whānau will be free to purchase. As the games are fast approaching, orders and money will need to be in quickly.

We are working on a money in BEFORE WE ORDER policy! However it would be good to get in an expression of interest to the contact people to give us an indication of possible numbers, as there will be a minimum numbers for orders of merchandise.

Kia Ora whanau, just putting it out there at the moment so that you can all start getting fit, fast and fabulous… that the confirmed dates for the next Tainui Games will be happening on the weekend of the 18th February 2011. Please keep these dates available! If you want to be involved please get in contact with Taiapa and Aroha.

Aotearoa Experience presents: HAKA

Come experience the unique intangible Māori cultural heritage of the Waikato-Tainui people whilst visiting our iconic regional attractions the Hamilton Gardens, Te Parapara and the Waikato River!

Meet local Māori artists, learn a haka or poi dance, paddle a large waka (traditional canoe) on the mighty Waikato River, weave a flax item for a loved one, watch traditional weaponry displays, purchase authentic Māori art and craft at market rates, view an exhibition, be entertained by local traditional cultural groups, enjoy a steaming hot hāngi meal or undertake guided tours to learn about traditional Māori horticultural practices and medicinal plants. Tā Moko (Māori tattoo) artists will also be available.
